"Discover Alexander County" Reception

A reception was hosted by the Hiddenite Center staff and volunteers
to present the new Alexander County Visitor Center to the public.

Press Release from the Hiddenite Center:

"In partnership with Alexander County Government, The Hiddenite Center recently announced that the arts and heritage organization would expand their ongoing services to include housing the new Alexander County Visitor Center. In celebration of this exciting new venture, the public is invited to attend a “Discover Alexander County Reception,” which will be held on Thursday, August 22nd at the Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road) from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

This unique collaboration will enable The Hiddenite Center’s staff to provide a welcoming facility where visitors and residents can obtain information about county attractions, businesses, and events – both on the phone and in person. The Visitor Center will also include rotating exhibits that highlight places of interest in Alexander County.

In keeping with the Discover Alexander County theme, the reception will feature refreshments that are deliciously designed to reflect landmarks of the county. For example, guests will enjoy “Rocky Face Brownies,” Emerald Nugget Trail Mix,” and Junebug Punch.”

Music for the reception will be provided Abigail Zika, who is an accomplished young violinist and student of Alexander County music instructor, Kathy Estes.

Beginning August 15th, The Hiddenite Center will expand their operating hours to include being open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm."
