2nd Annual Street Dance & Car Show

There was dancing in the streets of downtown Taylorsville Saturday night as an estimated 1,200 people of all ages turned out for the second annual Street Dance sponsored by the Alexander County Chamber of Commerce.

Music from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s filled the air as disc jockey Danny Bentley filled requests from the crowd, and dancers filled the street doing everything from the electric slide to the shag to the whatever dance they wanted to do.

“This is our second year doing the Street Dance, and we are pleased that so many people participated,” said Denise Elder, Chamber executive director. “I think everybody enjoyed themselves. Even the weather cooperated with us.” She thanked the many people who worked to make the event happen.
